Opposition's Lying Ad

An out-of-state group opposed to medical marijuana is already airing a television ad attacking the Michigan medical marijuana initiative. This outrageously false ad lies to the public, claiming that “every major health organization rejects” medical marijuana.

To the contrary, numerous major health organizations support medical marijuana access and even call on the government to change the law and stop arresting medical marijuana patients – including the American College of Physicians, American Nurses Association, American Public Health Association, American Academy of HIV Medicine, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Lymphoma Foundation of America, AIDS Action Council, American Academy of HIV Medicine, National Association of People With AIDS, and many others.

Since our well-financed opposition is swarming the airwaves with false and fear-mongering ads, it's crucial that we have the funds to fully execute our campaign plan. Please donate $10 or more right now!

Dr. Wagoner speaks from the heart

After watching Dr. Wagoner's account of his wife's difficult final days, please forward this video to everyone you know and ask them to do the same.

Deb Brink, RN

This is the first in a series of television ads released across Michigan, featuring medical marijuana patients and their loved ones urging the passage of Proposal 1. This ad features Deb Brink, a registered nurse who worked in oncology hospice care and is herself a four-time cancer survivor. She used medical marijuana to combat the nausea brought on by chemotherapy and tells her powerful story.

Like all of our work, the production and airing of this ad is completely dependent on the generosity of our donors. Please contribute what you can today so we can continue to spread our message in the run-up to Election Day.

Dr. George Wagoner, M.D.

This ad features Manistee, Mich. resident Dr. George Wagoner, whose wife of 51 years, Beverly, succumbed to cancer in 2007. During her ordeal, she found that few prescription medications effectively combated her chemotherapy-related nausea as well as medical marijuana, which Dr. Wagoner procured for her. Since her passing, he has dedicated himself to ensuring that no one else has to break the law in order to relieve their loved ones' suffering. As he notes in the ad, "It shouldn't be a crime to follow a doctor's advice."

Please donate to the campaign today so we can keep the Wagoner's powerful story on the air.
